A Reagan Republican for U.S. Senate

Reye, as in Border Security

Reye, as in Border Security

President Reagan believed that the greatness of our nation is rooted in our being a Beacon of Freedom across the world. Far from “poisoning our blood”, lawful immigrants seeking a better life have consistently been the lifeblood of our nation. Reagan saw that and so did I.

Just because the border is broken doesn’t mean this truth is dead. It simply means that we must stop using the border as a political wedge and do what we all know needs to be done. That means giving our Border Patrol the resources they need like those put forth in the recent border bill that Kari Lake and Donald Trump torched. I stand with the National Border Patrol Council in its support for the bill that would have restricted amnesty, built more border wall, provided millions to fight the cartels, fentanyl detection, 4500 border personnel, and 100 new immigration judges. This bill would have reduced the wait time for asylum claims from a staggering 5 years to a mere 6 months.

As your Senator, I will fight to bring this bill out of the trash can Kari Lake tossed it in. I will listen to the brave men and women fighting this crisis over one man thinking about an election.

I also pledge to never use the border wall as a prop. I will only go there to help serve the people who live and work on the border.

When President Reagan signed the last comprehensive immigration bill passed in this country, He was sure to congratulate both Republicans and Democrats. “It’s amazing what can be accomplished when you don’t care who gets credit,” Reagan remarked with a smile. Nothing is ever going to get done on the border (or anywhere else for that matter) until we get back to understanding the wisdom of those words. I’m Beth Reye, Arizona born and bred with the same conservative conscience that has defined our state for generations.
